Traditional Persian Shoes
Giveh, Traditional Persian Shoes should be considered one of the most interesting and valuable rural handicrafts in Iran. This old footwear, which was once widely used, especially in summer, has lost its long-standing prestige in recent years due to the prevalence of machine shoes and its replacement with old footwear in most parts of Iran.
It also employed craftsmen due to little Income and declining demand in this field have turned to other jobs. But the beauty, variety and numerous designs of Giveh are such that it still has many applicants and is significantly welcomed in spring and summer.
Giveh Kashi( Traditional Persian Shoes ) is one of the common and native handicrafts of Kermanshah province and is especially dominant in the Oramanat sector, including handicrafts. This native industry can be divided into two main parts, rural and urban, based on the type of production and place of production.
The two villages of Hajij and Nodsheh in the Oramanat section are among the ancient and important centers of the production of a special type of giwa, the bed of which is old and is known as giwa cumin.
In addition to the two mentioned villages, other villages in which the usual Chinese yoke is still practiced and still continues to be, are: Varadar village, Khaneh Darreh, Shirkan, Miriyeh Nervi, Vazli, Tang Mardan, and the cocoon of Simin Olya lamb. Talisman – Jamrg – Tomak – Zamgeh Haidar – Hossein Abad – Doab – Upper Winter and Darbid.
