This is an absolutely lovely compote. This Art Deco piece is gray with gold Persian pattern. The lid is in fabulous condition, with no chips, cracks or discoloration. The word “عشق” represented in the calligraphic fashion on the bowl means “ love” which embodies a very deep and pure love in Persian literature. Also, there is a very beautiful gold color bird on it .The role of different types of birds and poultry are found on most of the pottery in different parts of Iran especially in Hamedan.
