persian crafts
Turquoise inlaying is one of the most popular persian crafts in Isfahan. The art of placing turquoise on objects and using this stone to decorate turquoise items is called turquoise inlaying.
The first and most important element and raw material for producing a turquoise product is turquoise stone. Turquoise stone in Iran is extracted from turquoise mines located in Neishabur (Razavi Khorasan Province), and after the initial payment, it is sent to different cities in Iran and even other countries for ornamental purposes.
The second most important element for making turquoise crafts is the base metal. The base metal is the surface on which the turquoise engraving is to be done, which can be gold, copper and other metals mentioned above.
This art involves placing small pieces of turquoise stone in a mosaic form on the surface of dishes, ornaments, and decorative objects. Of course, the body of the dishes on which turquoise is applied is usually made of copper. After placing the turquoise, a kind of dark varnish is placed between them, the smaller the distance, the more expensive the turquoise container is. Like all handicrafts and artistic structures, order and elegance determine the value of a work. It is the same in the art of turquoise painting, and the more carefully and delicately the turquoise dishes are worked, the more beautiful and valuable the result will be.
Due to its unique beauty and calmness, turquoise is mostly used to decorate vases, mirror frames, and other decorative items. It is usually displayed on the copper body of this art.
These handicraft dishes, designed and made with valuable skills, are suitable for gifting to your loved ones. In addition, you can use them as a suitable gift for your managers and employees.
