Painting on Camel Bone
Such handicrafts are often culturally or religiously wonderful. Painting on Camel Bone is one of the major disciplines of the visual arts, dating back six times to the written language. Even the passage of time doubled the beauty of the paintings on the bones, especially among tourists. Paintings on camel and ostrich bones are examples of these beautiful and attractive paintings.
Painting(Negargari) is one of the ancient arts and traditions of Iran. Painting is usually done on surfaces such as canvas, paper and camel bone. Of course, preparing and bleaching this type of bone for painting has been and is time-consuming. Each piece of the artwork with warm colors and beautiful miniatures and arabesque art is a symbol of Iran’s territory.
The painting subjects are based on Persian culture. Some of them are based on poems of Persian poets such as Omar Khayyam, Hafiz, Saadi, Firdowsi, Moulavi and some on Persian stories such as Shahnameh….
In Iran, to remove bone impurities, it must first be cleaned with hydroxide. After that, the bone is split into desired pieces. After that placed in boiling water and marble powder for 5 hours to remove any residual impurities. The process of boiling continues until we reach the desired white color. Exactly the amount of brightness and whiteness of the camel bone depends on the amount of boiling.
