Persian Calligraphy
Man’s indescribable love and passion for combining calligraphy and beauty among different civilizations and cultures is quite evident. What happened during the heyday of Islamic culture and civilization at the hands of Muslims led to the emergence of various types of Islamic calligraphy. Also, the fascination of Muslims with the writing of the Qur’an caused them to do their best to drink it as beautifully as possible.
Before the Islamic era in Iran, the Pahlavi, Avestan and Cuneiform scripts were common, but with the arrival of Islam in Iran and its acceptance by the Iranians, the Arabic alphabet replaced the previous scripts. But the calligraphy of the Persian alphabet reached such a level of perfection and excellence among Iranian artists that it became the culmination of their art in the field of calligraphy and calligraphy and even became a sacred art.
