Iranian Shoes
The most famous type of handmade Iranian Shoes for women that has many fans in different parts of Iran and even some urban people prefer it to other types of shoes on hot days of the year is called Giveh.
Little is known about the evolution of the small weaving industry. The weaving is lightweight, durable, and suitable for long walks on rough roads, and due to these characteristics, most people date it to much older times than other types of footwear. Have been attributed, and this has led to the birth of Giveh as being associated with legends. Also, in most sources, the production of the first Giveh has been attributed to Guo, the fictional hero of Iran.
Handmade Persian shoe Giveh comes in various types, yet all of them are composed of two main pieces: the sole and the upper piece or shaft. Giveh shoes is categorized based on the type of thread used for weaving the upper part, the material used for making the sole, and the way these two pieces are tied to each other. The upper piece is woven out of silk or fine cotton threads. The sole can be made out of leather or rubber and the two parts are tightly tied to each other using different methods.
The yarn used to make all kinds of Kurdish shoes is often silk yarn, which has a high strength and will not be damaged by continuous use. The type of fabric used in the Giveh procedure is needlework and it is sewn by women artists using special needles (jeweler). (Handmade Shoes for Women’s)
Leather, fabric and rubber are used for the sole or sole of this shoe. If a fabric is chosen for the sole, the fabric must be cotton. In fact, from the fabric, a board is made for the outsole, and the older the fabric, the better the outsole.
